The new late show?

Just pointing out to Fox Sports and ESPN that East Coast bias may not be so good for ratings when only West Coast fans can stay up to see World Series.

–

Not sure how many of his former teammates’ numbers on SF Giants  Eduardo Nunez still has ion his phone. But after his 3 run pinch-hit home run against Dodgers bet Eduardo just heard from all of them.

Another reason to root for Red Sox – Tom Goodwin, who shares my birthday, is a former SF Giant, and Boston 1st base coach.
#ForeverGiant

–

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts got loud pre-game ovation at Fenway from fans who remember him for stealing a base that started that amazing 2014 ALCS  comeback against the Yankees.

Red Sox fans might have cheered him louder tonight though for removing Pedro Baez.

–

My son isn’t even married yet, but fully expect some day to hear the question “Grandma, what’s a complete game?”

–

Damn. RIP Hank Greenwald. His voice was the soundtrack to me falling in love with SF Giants.

  1. Still get shivers with this Greenwald call “And Clark hits it up the middle, into center-field, base hit!!! Maldonado scores! Here comes Butler…on his way to third is Thompson, the Giants lead three to one!!! And Superman has done it again!”

–

Apparently a winning Mega Millions jackpot ticket was sold tonight in South Carolina. So will winner’s first act to be to move out of South Carolina?

–

No injuries reported when small vintage Nazi plane crashed on 101 in Agoura Hills. Not sure intended destination, but pilot must have been very confused – Trump doesn’t do rallies in California.

–

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said “US will revoke visas and issue ‘visa lookouts’ for those identified as responsible for the murder of Jamal Khashoggi.” What about possibly revoking Jared’s passport?

–

Trump today “California, get on the ball. Because we’re not gonna hand you any more money. It’s ridiculous.” Guess no one told the stable genius that California contributes much more to the federal budget than we get back.

–

Interesting that a self-proclaimed Nationalist like Trump will be celebrating U.S. Veterans Day in Paris with Vladimir Putin.

True crimes

EX-NFL player Rae Carruth released from prison after 18 yr- sentence for having his pregnant girlfriend murdered
If Carruth weren’t 44, wonder how many NFL teams would say he deserves a second chance. Not like he did anything awful like kneel for the anthem.

I know it’s early in the season, but, somehow I missed NBA rule change that Lebron James has to take at LEAST four steps for refs to call traveling.

–

For those who need pre-election diversion in SF Bay Area, put November 1 on your calendars – Raiders vs. 49ers. At least one team has to get their second win of the season.
If both don’t get their first tie.

–

News that Bob Barker taken to hospital provokes one of two responses from most Americans – 1. Hope he’s okay. 2. Bob Barker is still alive?

–

But really, doesn’t every consulate keep a supply of body doubles just in case one of their citizens accidentally dies while visiting them?

–

If Californians are rioting over sanctuary cities and their liberal government how come Democrats are favored to win even more races than usual on November 6?

Takes particular kind of chutzpah to use hashtag while standing in front of an angry mob you helped create, a mob who mostly got jobs under Obama.

–

Trump now claiming that “Criminals and Unknown Middle Easterners” are in the migrant caravan.
I know Bill Clinton wrote a thriller novel with James Patterson, is Trump trying to prove he can be more implausibly creative?

–

If we gave every American who voted a MegaMillions lottery ticket we’d have at least 80% turnout.

–

As Donald Trump talks about criminals and Mideasterners potentially being in the migrant caravan, can we have a moment to remember where the 9-11 hijackers came from?

So I guess Trump would be attacking people who risked their lives to cross the Berlin Wall as criminals too?
If I were an American employer think I’d choose to hire someone who would face danger and walk for weeks to get a job over a whole lot of lazy people born right here.

Not close, and not closer.

So NFL took 49ers vs. Rams off Sunday Night football because it would be too much of a blowout.   Replaced game with Bengals vs. Chiefs.
SF lost by 29 today. Cincinnati to lost KC by 35.
Mean bitch karma popping an autumnal mead?

–

For three quarters today, Philadelphia Eagles looked like 2018 Super Bowl team. In 4th quarter, they looked like 2017 Super Bowl Falcons team.

–

Since I was born in Boston feel no shame now in saying “Go Red Sox!”

–

Red Sox World Series game 1 starter Chris Sale apparently ended up in the hospital due to an infection from… his belly-button ring?  Just guessing this is an illness that will never befall Madison Bumgarner.

–

Toronto Raptors rested Kawhi Leonard and didn’t even bring him to DC for the THIRD game of the year. Even Popovich is thinking that’s a bit much

–

As tough as it is to see Dodgers heading to World Series, it is at least deeply satisfying to see Urban Meyer team get their butts kicked. By my favorite QB’s alma mater!

From “CelticWombat” on Twitter after Ohio State-Purdue game – he gets a free ticket on the next departure of the bus to hell.
“I’m gonna wait until after the press conference, but I’m pretty certain even Urban Meyer will report this beating.

–

One Mega Millions ticket sold near San Jose matched five of the six numbers so will be worth nearly $3.5 million. Which means the winner may have play again if he/she wants to buy a house.

–

Trump is so desperate for attention he gave an interview Saturday night to … the Washington Post?
I miss having a President who went out with his wife on Saturday nights.

–

He left the building
We don’t know where he is.
He died in a fist fight during an interrogation.
He accidentally died in a chokehold.
Waiting for one of these Saudi excuses to get around to mentioning the bone saw.

–

Look, I get immigration is complicated. But if your life is so dangerous and hopeless that you are willing to walk with your children for weeks in search of a new start in a better place, thinking President of the United States could at least express some sympathy, instead of just referring to you as criminals and a “disgrace.”

Winning by losing?

Jon Lester said Cubs will learn from losing, Alex Bregman says ALCS loss will give Astros ‘an edge’ next season.
But what about the teams who made an art of losing all season?

–

What was more surprising about NLCS game six.  That the Brewers won so convincingly? Or that Milwaukee manager Craig Counsell only used four pitchers?

Joe Girardi pulled his name from the Reds’  managerial search. Because he is holding out for a major league managing job?

–

Even better for MLB brand. FS1 is not shown on most hotel TV channels. So most Americans traveling can’t watch #NLCS game 6.
But baseball players need to market themselves….

–

If Jim Acosta instead of dropping an F-bomb had bodyslammed a Fox News reporter would Trump start saying nice things about him too?

–

Megamillions jackpot reached $1 billion. Maybe Heidi and Ted Cruz should have played so they might be able to afford that 2nd house?

–

Trump bragging tonight about his “massively full” rally tonight in Arizona airport hangar. Well, heck, if they played in a hangar even Chargers could claim good attendance.

–

In Arkansas a GOP radio ad claims Democrats will be ‘lynching black folk again’ if people don’t vote Republican. Seriously.
But liberals are the mob?

–

Hillary got slammed for calling some Trump supporters “deplorables.” Then last night many at Donald Trump rally cheered when Trump praised a Congressman for bodyslamming a reporter. Hillary clearly needed a stronger word.

Nikki Haley at a fundraiser this week “‘In the last two years, I’ve seen true evil. We have some serious political differences here at home. But our opponents are not evil. They’re just our opponents.'”
Gosh, if only she had been in a position to communicate that to the White House.

–

So yeah isn’t it reasonable to kill someone who starts a fight just because you cut off his fingers?

–

What Trump is saying at rallies is coming increasingly close to “Will no one rid me of these meddlesome journalists?”

Thursday night lights out.

Good win for Stanford football tonight. But in David Shaw era especially with a lead late maybe we should use the term “prevent offense?”

Interview earlier this week, with Stanford WR J.J. Arcega-Whiteside where they asked him about being trilingual. He said, no, I only speak English and Spanish. I can understand Portuguese but I can’t really speak it. #NerdNation

The Boston Red Sox played well and deserve to be in World Series. But it does help when your payroll can absorb paying $18 million for Pablo Sandoval, $22 million to Hanley Ramirez, and $2 million to MANNY Ramirez.

–

So since Red Sox  are still paying Pablo Sandoval despite releasing him, isn’t Panda owed part of a playoff share?

Maybe Boston can split a share between Sandoval and Cowboy Joe West?

–

Well, at least I don’t have to feel conflicted anymore about liking a team that signed a guy suspended 75 games for domestic violence.

Rihanna reportedly turned down the Super Bowl halftime show in support of Colin Kaepernick. Waiting for “Rihanna overrated” Presidential tweets in 3.2.1…

–

As many working-class Americans struggle to pay their rent, hope they can feel empathy for poor Heidi and Ted Cruz. Since on his $174,000 salary they can’t afford to buy a second home.

-Trump’s “60 Minutes” interview ratings were over 40% lower than his last appearance after the 2016 election, and less than half of Stormy Daniels’ ratings this March.
The ratings were even down almost 30% from the NFL games preceding the show.
Womp womp.

–

President of the United States calls the press the “enemy of the people” and praises a Congressman who body slammed a reporter. If you aren’t afraid you aren’t paying attention.

–

Been a while since I had a toddler, but do remember being told when they have tantrums they may act out in more & more outrageous ways just to get attention. Might explain a lot of these Trump rallies.

–

We’re now living in a world where President of the United States deals with bad publicity from one outrage by simply committing a new outrage.

Who’s in center?

Since ESPN & Fox almost never showed Milwaukee during regular season many fans have to wonder, why is this guy named Yelich who is only hitting.167 batting second?

–

Going to be interesting who gets booed more at AT&T Park, Yasiel Puig, or Manny Machado if he resigns with the Dodgers.

–

Wonder how many baseball fans thought “Thank heaven Angel Hernandez isn’t umpiring ALCS so we won’t get any game changing controversial calls. ” Joe West – ‘Hold my beer.”

Kawhi Leonard got a standing ovation in his first game with the Raptors, and seems happy enough now to be in Toronto.  Of course, with Canada’s new marijuana laws, maybe he figures it won’t be long until some of his favorite superstar friends will join him.

–

On July 6, 2018, Phillies beat Pirates 17-5 & tied NL record for longest 9th inning game – 4 hours, 30 minutes.   Red Sox & Astros topped that Wednesday night and there’s at least one more ALCS game this year.  Imagine had it gone extra innings?

–

Alaska’s lieutenant governor resigns 3 weeks before election over ‘inappropriate comments I made that placed a person whom I respect and revere in a position of vulnerability.”
You can tell he’s a Democrat, he actually ADMITTED behaving badly.

Apparently new White House counsel Pat Cipollone had no idea his appointment would be announced in an AP interview.
Has anyone warned Cipollone he’ll get about as much notice when Trump fires him?

–

Trump says he’s “too busy” to visit troops and it’s “not overly necessary.”. Maybe if we could only fight a war on a golf course?

–

Trump doctrine is simple: I believe everyone who flatters me or pays me. The rest of them are all lying SOBs or bitches.

–

Have to ask a question. Surely Saudis figured there would be some chance of negative publicity over Khashoggi killing.
So what story were they worried about emerging if he remained alive that was worse?

I miss the days when GOP tried to win elections by getting more people to agree with them rather than by making sure fewer people vote.

Faster, higher, shorter….

Mary Bono lasted four days as temporary head of the USOC. Four days?! That’s less than half a Scaramucci.

–

Meanwhile, Dodgers vs Brewers NLCS game four goes almost four hours before extra innings.  Even Red Sox and  Yankees fans are thinking “Can you speed it up a little?

–

Ohio State star DE Nick Bosa says he is leaving school to focus on rehabbing a muscle injury before the NFL draft.
Because we all know it takes so much physical effort to read a book?

–

Okay  LA Dodgers and SF Giants fans, can we get some agreement on one of the names on Donald Trump’s list to replace Nikki Haley as UN Ambassador – Jamie McCourt? As in former Dodgers co-owner with her ex-husband Frank.   As in “Just say No (F*cking Way)”

–

While I like the Astros in general, have to think mean bitch karma is not unhappy about Osuna being hit hard in the postseason.

Marijuana is legal in Canada starting tomorrow. And for a lot of professional football players the CFL just got more appealing.

(as did the Raptors for an NBA free-agent destination.)

–

And now the President of the United States is calling his former lover “Horseface” on Twitter. Are we great yet?

–

Actually shouldn’t a horse’s ass be screwing a horse face?

–

Jacob Walter Anderson, 24, former Phi Delta Theta fraternity president at Baylor has pleaded no contest to “unlawful restraint” after being indicted on 4 counts He will be put on probation and not have to register as a sex offender.
So guess the alleged rape won’t stand in the way of his future political or judicial career.

–

Trump promised to hold rally for Ted Cruz at “the biggest stadium in Texas we can find.” Rally will be at NRG Arena, which holds 8,000.
NPG Arena is 4 minute WALK from NRG Stadium which holds over 72,000.
The best “finders” too?

Trump “I won’t accept the blame if Dems retake House.”
Uh, can anyone tell me a single time Donald Trump has accepted blame for ANYTHING?

–

So wonder how Susan Collins and Jeff Flake feel about Trump indicating the Saudis are as innocent as Brett Kavanaugh?

–

So why would anyone think the Saudis were complicit in a brutal murder that happened IN THEIR CONSULATE

Flashbacks?

Haven’t seen much of Brewer’s closer Jeffress until this postseason but so far he seems to be perfect for SF Giants fans going through “torture” withdrawal.

–

After game 3, Kiki Hernandez chided the crowd at Dodgers stadium for dead air starting in the first inning and boos especially in the later innings.  To be fair,  without regular season experience being there how do  LA fans KNOW how to act in the early and late innings.

–

Tampa Bay Buccaneers have fired their defensive coordinator. Shocking many fans who didn’t realize they HAD a defensive coordinator.

–

Buccaneers fired their defensive coordinator Mike Smith after Tampa Bay has been averaging about 40 points allowed per game.
49ers allowed 17 in first quarter to Packers.  And then 10 points in the last two minutes.  Maybe SF might want to hire Smith.

Maybe taking it a BIT too seriously? John Elway says the Broncos are “fighting for their lives” on Thursday night football.
Good thing Denver isn’t playing a team in Florida.

–

Kellyanne Conway said DNA is “junk science.” I don’t ever want to hear a white Trump supporter complain about the OJ Simpson jury again.

–

nice to see a story about a chronological baby for a change.

–

Now Trump is saying about missing journalist Khashoggi “Maybe these could have been rogue killers? Rogue killers who are 400 pounds and normally live in a basement hacking emails?

–

If it weren’t so pathetically sad, and evil, Rogue Killers would be a great band name.

–

Saudis now saying Khashoggi’s death was just “an interrogation gone wrong.” Well, we all know dismembering someone isn’t supposed actually to hurt them. At least if we’ve seen a lot of magic shows.

–

Really??!!! Now Arizona Senate candidate Krysten Sinema is being attacked for in 2003 inviting a group of feminist witches called “Pagan Cluster” to celebrate International Women’s Day and to protest the war in Iraq. Where is the GOP standing up for freedom of religion.

–

If we aren’t asking Melania over and over about Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal and the 19 women who claimed Trump assaulted them, why do we care so much about what Hillary thinks of Monica?

–

Trump – “When you talk about environmental, I am truly an environmentalist. A lot of people smile when they hear that. But I have the cleanest air, and I’m going to have the cleanest air.”

Time for a new game, is it Donald Trump or Alec Baldwin on SNL?

–

ll you need to know about how Trump & FEMA’s response to Hurricane Michael REALLY is going is to know that Fox News isn’t bragging about it.

I am perfectly willing to discuss, debate and argue about  Democratic 2020 Presidential candidates. On November 7, 2018. Period.

Oh say can you see… the playoffs?

Exactly ONE of combined NLCS & ALCS games will be on network televison – Brewers-Dodgers game 2 on Fox. ALL others on TBS or FS1. Way to grow that brand MLB commissioner Rob Manfred.

–

So by David Price postseason standards was ALCS game 2 this a quality start?

–

Watching Maldonado tonight for Astros and Grandal in game 1 for Dodgers makes me really glad as an SF Giants fan that Buster Posey has a no-trade contract.

–

Raiders lost 27-3  in London. But at least they seemed like a  true English football team   Not only being known for some hooligan fans,  they put up a soccer-worthy score.

–

On Saturday during NLCS game 2,  Brewers manager Craig Counsell pulled Wade Miley after 74 dominating pitches.  I hate analytics.

(Can anyone imagine Bruce Bochy trying to do that to Madbum in 2014?)

–

Tomorrow is 49ers vs. Packers on Monday Night Football.
I’ll take “Games that appeared much more interesting when they drew up the schedule for $400, Alex”

Trump describes Mattis as “sort of a Democrat” and said the defense secretary may leave his administration. How long until he says Ivanka or Jared would be perfect replacements?

Trump on accusations of Saudis murdering Khashoggi “They deny it and they deny it vehemently. Could it be them? Yes.” Amazed he didn’t say it could have been “somebody sitting on their bed that weighs 400 pounds.”

Trump to Lesley Stahl when she challenged him on 60 minutes today “In the meantime, I’m President and you’re not.” Ah yes, the joys of having a President with the emotional maturity of a 6 year old.

–

Your reminder that Trump said on October 1, one year after Las Vegas massacre, that bump-fire stocks would be banned “over the next couple of weeks.”

As the Hurricane Michael death and destruction numbers grow, a reminder that Governor Rick Scott has literally banned the phrase “climate change” in Florida.

A another simple reminder – while many Floridians don’t have water, food or power, and the death toll is rising, that Donald Trump played golf today.

–

As we approach midterms, the final reminder of tonight’s post- if you don’t vote for an imperfect candidate who shares most of your views, result is likely to be candidate who shares almost none of your views.

Not ready for prime time?

I miss the times in October when the most annoying voice Americans would hear all day was that of Joe Buck.

–

But if  ESPN and Fox actually showed the Brewers during the season, casual fans would have some idea who most this team of very good Milwaukee players are..

Yeah, this makes me a dinosaur but I kind of miss postseason games where you remember who the starting pitchers were by the 9th inning.

–

.

–

–

SF 49ers have apologized for leaving Colin Kaepernick out of  photo gallery celebrating team’s winning history against Green Bay Packers.  But well, and  not like 49ers would have any use for a decent quarterback next Monday night….

–

Raiders-Seahawks in London Sunday.   How long until the Brits claim America is not sending their best?

–

Kim Kardashian, reportedly “not embarrassed” by Kanye’s Oval Office performance yesterday. Makes sense, how often does she feel like the brains of the outfit?

–

Melania says she has “more important things to think about’ than rumors of her husband cheating. And Trump is thinking “I paid Stormy Daniels and the other women all that money for NOTHING?”

As Fox News praises the Trump – Kanye love-fest, imagine if Obama had entertained Beyonce in the Oval Office the morning after Hurricane Sandy.

Trump Friday night in Cincinnati asked black people for their votes. Because nothing says supporting racial justice like praising Robert E. Lee.

–

Amazed Trump didn’t say Robert E Lee is getting more and more recognition these days.

–

Lindsay Graham says if Saudi govt was responsible for murder of Jamal Khashoggi, then there will be “hell to pay.” Meaning what, Graham will be very very troubled?

–

Open note to 18-25 year olds in USA – sure, go again and don’t vote. Then your parents and grandparents actually WILL be dictating your life.

–

That Cincinnati Trump was not at a major stadium or arena, but at a fairgrounds venue that holds 3,000. Heck, most good high school football teams in Ohio can draw more than that.

–

Trump said today he will call Saudi Arabia’s King Salman to discuss disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. To complain to Salman or to praise him?

If you can’t make it there…

Worst thing for New York sports fans these days is that with Yankees out of the playoffs, they have to pay attention to the Giants and Jets.

–

Apparently more bets have been placed in Las Vegas on the Los Angeles Lakers to win NBA championship than any other team.
If anyone wondered how they got the money to build all those big hotels?

–

A two-day break and I miss baseball already.

–

Tripadvisor sent me an email with “14 of the most Instagrammable restaurants.”
I’m so old i remember going to restaurants for the food.

–

First Nike sales increased, now Taylor Swift has seen her album sales rise from #32 on the charts to #14.
Anyone else want to speak out against Trump?

–

Really really wish I could be a fly on the wall after MAGA’s have burned their Taylor Swift albums and listen to Kanye West for the first time.

–

Jeff Flake decided last week that Trump’s judgment was good enough to pick a SCOTUS judge for a lifetime appointment. And today he’s surprised and upset by Trump’s love for Kanye as a guest in the White House?   #WTF?

–

Watching Kanye and Trump in Oval Office makes many of us long for intellectual television programming like “Keeping up with the Kardashians.”

–

Who knew tariffs had consequences?

–

What has to upset Trump the most about the last two days with the stock market – it’s BEFORE the midterms, so he can’t blame it on a blue wave.

–

BuzzFeed reported John Kelly called Elizabeth Warren an “impolite arrogant woman” in a private email last year.
Thinking “Another persistent, impolite, arrogant woman” would look great on a t-shirt.

–

–

Former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen has changed his voter registration to Democratic.
So will Trump add him to his mythical list of angry Democrats?

–

Think anyone’s reminded Trump this morning that Mexico Beach IS actually part of the US?

–

Just a reminder for Florida voters after Hurricane Michael with their Bill Nelson – Rick Scott Senate choice. In 2013, Nelson voted FOR a Hurricane Sandy relief bill. 36 GOP Senators voted against it, including Marco Rubio.

No balls and strikes.

Since all Division series wrapped up in four games or less, there are now two days with zero Major League Baseball games.

So we all get a brief taste of what this year was like for Orioles fans.

–

And with no games today, what did Angel Hernandez have to do to be wrong?

–

(Marc Ragovin says “Chief Justice John Roberts said he wants to retract his “judges are just umpires” comment after having watched Angel Hernamdez.”

QB Kelly Bryant who decided to leave Clemson when he lost the starting job to now injured freshman Trevor Lawrence, will visit UNC this weekend.
Where no doubt he will try to impress the coaching staff of the 1-3 Tarheels with his leadership ability even through adversity

–

A new poll in Arizona shows 4 % of voters planning to vote for the Green candidate in close race between Republican Martha McSally and Democrat Kyrsten Sinema.
What is that old definition of insanity?

–

MelaniaTrump says that women who are sexual assaulted should “show the evidence”
So would she have believed Dr.Ford if Kavanaugh bragged on tape about grabbing her by the p*ssy?

–

Fox News tweeted “Jamie Lee Curtis wields firearms in new “Halloween” movie despite advocating in gun control.

So when will Fox call for locking up Bryan Cranston for felony drug manufacture and sale?

–

Trump tweet “Departing the @WhiteHouse for Erie, Pennsylvania. I cannot disappoint the thousands of people that are there – and the thousands that are going. I look forward to seeing everyone this evening.”
The sad excuse for a small man whose ego needs stroking more than he thinks Floridians need a President pretending to care about them.

–

I’m sure all the people who lost homes today in Florida will appreciate that Donald Trump didn’t want to cancel his ego-stroking rally in PA because it would have been “unfair.”

–

Trump did say of Hurricane Michael “it’s like a big tornado.”  Brick Tamland of Anchorman did it better.

  •

But  of course Donald Trump tweeted “Thank you” to those attending his rally tonight before he tweeted about Hurricane Michael.

Unhappiest people not in New York when the Yankees comeback fell just short…  TBS executives planning to show game 5 on Thursday night.

Craig Kimbrel picked a heck of a time almost to do a David Price postseason impersonation.

–

Must say watching a closer potentially implode in the 9th is a lot easier when it’s not YOUR team’s closer.

–

Fox has hired Hope Hicks as chief communications director. Wouldn’t a more accurate title be Secretary of State TV?

–

Meanwhile, Monday turned out to be almost as bad a day for Indians, Braves and Redskins as when Columbus showed up. #Bustohell

–

Apparently limousine in which 20 people died Sunday in NY had failed inspection & driver didn’t have the appropriate license to drive it. But hey, let’s get rid of pesky job-killing regulations.

–

For all those who saying what a moderating force Nikki Haley has been – what exactly has she DONE?

–

Nikki Haley says Jared Kushner is a “hidden genius,” and there is SERIOUS speculation Trump may appoint Ivanka to take her place as UN Ambassador.
Once again, The Onion is going “we give up.”

–

So Trump just told us today the only reason he isn’t appointing his daughter Ivanka as UN ambassador is that he’d be accused of nepotism. Well that and it would interfere with her current duties as his real VP and First Lady.

–

Amazing how many men who think Taylor Swift should stick to music are quite fine with Kanye West going to the White House.

–

To put this in terms that GOP respects – ie $$$$$ – Taylor Swift’s net worth is currently an estimated $320 million. She may be blond but she is NOT dumb. And she’s a successful businesswoman with fans who pay attention to what she says.

Maybe Taylor Swift can write her greatest break-up song ever about American people breaking up with Republicans.

–

Is there a way for those who are able to evacuate Hurricane Michael but choose not to because they don’t believe in government or science, can proudly post their names and addresses somewhere?
So first responders can know to ignore their house

Right about now Cubs fans are wondering how they ever lost to the Rockies?

–

On a brighter note for SF 49ers fans – it’s looking better and better for a high 2019 draft pick.

–

So didn’t we all after NFL week five have Browns with as many wins as the Packers?

–

NFL rules requiring TV to switch to second game of day, or rather COMMERCIALS for the second game of day,  meant most fans watching NY Giants vs Panthers  missed the game-ending 63-yd FG to win it. Thinking league has a lot more problems than anthem kneeling.

Raiders doing their best today to help fans miss them less when they move to Las Vegas

If anyone didn’t already know he was a California boy – Gerrit Cole, talking about his 12 strikeout, 0 walk performance in ALDS game 2: “It’s pretty cool. Maybe I’ll have a glass of wine to celebrate after this is all done.”

–

From Saturday ALDS – new October game show – The Price Isn’t Right.

–

I believe Dr. Ford’s memory from 35 years ago more than @SenatorCollinsr memory of what Mitch McConnell tells her from week to week.

–

Susan Collins “The one silver lining that I hope will come from this is that more women will press charges now when they are assaulted.”
Okay, clearly time to start drug-testing the Senate.

Trump is now claiming his Mississippi speech mocking Dr. Ford helped Kavanaugh get confirmed.
Repeat this statement to any woman you know who doesn’t always vote.

Trump says he is “100% certain” that Dr. Ford named the wrong person in saying Brett Kavanaugh as her attempted rapist.
Right, and if they had found Brett’s DNA on her swimsuit Trump would have said he was 100% sure it was consensual.

–

Trump also says that Lisa Murkowski will lose her 2022 primary after voting against Kavanaugh.   Right, like that scares a Senator who lost her primary two years ago to a tea party candidate…. and won with a write-in campaign.

–

Can we start referring to him as “Injustice Kavanaugh?”

–

Well, damn. You go girl!  Does this mean I have to go to the next Taylor Swift concert?   “Taylor Swift gets political, endorses Tennessee Democrats Phil Bredesen and Jim Cooper”

Since sports is supposed to be distracting,  and WAS the original purpose of this blog….

An overload of  baseball playoffs today. Eight teams. From upstart Braves, Rockies and Brewers, to last year’s WS contending Dodgers and Astros. Who gets prime-time? Yankees-Red Sox.
But MLB commissioner Manfred thinks players should do a better job of marketing themselves.

–

Dodgers pitchers are going through Atlanta faster than Sherman.

Wondering if Atlanta sports fans, notorious for preferring football to baseball,  will show up for game three between Dodgers and Braves.   At least the Falcons score when they lose.

–

An Astros fan promised to buy beer for people sitting around him if George Springer hit home run in 5th. He spent about $500 when it happened.
Good thing fan wasn’t at Yankee Stadium, he’d have had to take out a 2nd mortgage.

–

Falcons have been having a rough couple weeks. But they still may win a game in October before the Braves.

–

Susan Collins cocktail – your basic cheap Tom Collins well-drink, but with enough twists added, it tries to convince people, especially women, that it is worth much more.

–

Supreme Court Chief Justice Judge Roberts has a 17 year old daughter. Wonder how she feels about the Kavanaugh confirmation.

Ok, let me explain Dr. Ford’s memories in ways my skeptical men friends might understand.
You watch hundreds of baseball games And they can blur. But if you don’t remember the exact day of that special clutch hit or alas, bullpen meltdown, you remember who was playing, and who won, or lost the game.

SEVEN police officers shot yesterday in Florence and it’s already out of the headlines. WTF is wrong with this country?

The man who allegedly shot 7 police officers in Florence yesterday is a  disbarred lawyer who had been arrested “multiple times, including for disorderly conduct.”
But he had no problem getting guns, and bragged on FB about his shooting skills….

If allegations decades after the fact against Catholic Priests were taken as seriously as GOP and thus FBI took Dr. Ford’s, many of those now former priests would still be abusing children.

89,000 pounds of ready-to-eat ham being recalled due to possible listeria contamination, 6 million pounds of ground beef being recalled over salmonella. But hey, let’s cut more of those pesky regulations.

On the other hand, for all those science-deniers in the GOP, maybe they should just keep on eating recalled meats and everything else?

–

Trump apparently boarded Air Force One today with a piece of toilet paper stuck to the bottom of his shoe.  Or to be fair, maybe it was a piece of the constitution?

That  moment when the man who said he wanted to date his daughter tells Americans to “think of their sons.”

–

Meanwhile, University of Georgia dismissed star 1st baseman Adam Sasser from the baseball team for allegedly shooting racist slurs at Georgia QB Justin Fields during last week’s game..

–

Showalter has been fired as Orioles manager. Of course, if Baltimore really wanted to punish Buck, they’d have made him come back for another year.

–

Rockies advanced to NLDS despite having played in Denver Sunday, Los Angeles Monday and Chicago Tuesday. Assuming they weren’t on United because their bats and other equipment made it with them.

Dodgers’ Yasiel Puig, after beating the Rockies today. “We’re bringing the 2018 championship here.’’
Well, if not, the Giants might loan them a trophy.
