Turn back the clock game?

November 5, 2016

#Washington played well against #Cal, but not sure how many East Coast media saw as the  2nd half started at 1250a East Coast time.  On the night Daylight Saving Time ends.  Should they have promoted it as “Turn Back the Clock Night?”

Oregon’s football program has fallen so far so fast that they may change their mascot from Donald Duck to Mickey Mouse. #Pac12 @espn

Cubs backup catcher Miguel Montero, complaining about the World Series: “It was different for me. It was a different emotion because I didn’t get a chance to play. I was a little disappointed, to be honest, because I felt like I did a good job in the regular season but was left out a little bit.”
Thinking maybe Chicago should trade Montero to say, San Diego or Minnesota where the regular season is all he’ll have to worry about.

ESPN reports that in Oregon Phil Knight might pay over $10 million a year for a football coach, in the hopes of finally winning the College Football Championship. Well, former Ducks coach Chip Kelly is almost certainly available.

#YoenisCespedes is opting for free agency. So wonder which jersey he’ll temporarily wear this year?

Texas A&M lost to Mississippi State.  Could be tough for the College Football Playoff committee – Which one-loss SEC team will they put ahead of Washington this week?

Election night may set record for US alcohol consumption. Only ? for most Americans -what they will drink @HillaryClinton @realDonaldTrump

The Associated Press reported yesterday that Melania Trump was paid for 10 modeling jobs in the U.S. before she was legally able to work in the U.S.
So guess the AP’s now on the Donald’s list. Another reason not to put Trump in the White House, he’s running out of press that he’d be willing to give credentials to….

If @realDonaldTrump really wants to attack @HillaryClinton on leaked emails he should release his own emails to show how pure HIS campaign is.

For all that @realDonaldTrump likes to rag on @HillaryClinton as a Senator, easy to forget she was re-elected with 67 percent of vote.

A man with a “Republicans Against Trump” sign was handcuffed and taken away from a Reno Trump rally today. No weapon was found. Already the Donald’s supporters are painting him as a Hillary supporter bent on assassination. Waiting for the morning when no doubt it will alleged be that Hillary paid him herself to shoot Trump.

Swing state voters who NEED to protest vote: please do it on Dancing w/ the Stars or something. Only 2 real choices for President & it matters.

From T.C.  M GM Theo Epstein has now guided the Red Sox and Cubs to World Series wins, snapping the 2 longest droughts in baseball championship history. In related news, the Toronto Maple Leafs are trying to hire him.

Surely you can’t be World Serious?

November 5, 2016

This post got drafted two weeks ago and not posted.  So it’s out of order.  Blame Obama.

So the #WorldSeries winner in 2016 will be a team that hasn’t won in my lifetime. #Cubs #Indians

Cleveland Indians really cannot catch a break. They are four wins away from their 1st World Series title in 68 years. And they still aren’t the lovable underdogs.

So in the end what was the difference between the 2016 #SFGiants and 2016 #LADodgers? A little more than a week.

Clayton #Kershaw may be the “best pitcher in baseball.” But he’s no #Madbum.

My friend Michael points out . “This is the first Cubs team to play a World Series with people of color on their roster.”. #AboutDamnTime

Heck, even the billy goat was probably white.

#Stanford on reunion weekend reminded many of us why we used to be consider football games to be all about tailgates and band halftime show

That moment when Stanford’s offense makes you nostalgic for the #SFGiants second half offense…. #allaboutthetailgatinganyway #drinkup

Texas Tech lost to Oklahoma 66-59 win Saturday night despite QB Patrick Hahomes II tying the FBS record with 734 yards. 734 yards in a loss… who does Hahomes think he is, Drew Brees?

Donald Trump talking about women who have accused him of sexual assault: “All of these liars will be sued after the election is over.” And some, especially men, still wonder why these women didn’t come forward at the time

Trump says something nasty off-mic and he’s a “ordinary American.” Hillary or her staffers say something, and they are evil. Got it. #sarcasm

Donald Trump Jr. on his dad’s leaked comments. “I think we probably all know guys who have had conversations with other guys that go a little bit in that direction, that’s a fact of life. I think he’s able to relate to ordinary Americans because in many cases he is still very much like that. He does do that. He hasn’t spent his whole life sitting there polishing every statement he’s ever made, every conversation he’s ever had.”
Makes you kind of long for those innocent days when George W. Bush was just the man you wanted to have a beer with.

Way back.

November 5, 2016

This weekend we turn back the clocks 60 minutes. And next Tuesday #Trump #Pence try to turn the clock back 60 years. #ImWithHer

While they may not be a great team @Lakers without #KobeBryant are actually fun to watch again.

On Wednesday night, the Cubs’, David Ross became the oldest man ever to hit a home run in a World Series game 7. His reported words rounding the bases “You punks get off my plate.”

No 3:00am tweet from @realDonaldTrump today, in fact nothing between about 7p & 7a PST. Maybe election taking toll on his health. #stamina?

A new poll says that 40% of Millennials worry the election is rigged. And this is the generation that sexts and puts all of their personal lives online?

#RudyGiuliani laughed about #FBI leaks. “Darn right I heard about it.” Now denies it. Just found out being tipped would have been a crime?

#RememberWhenTrump, for most Americans was just a name on some casinos and a gaudy 5th Avenue Tower?

Harvard has cancelled the remainder of the 2016 men’s soccer season, over the discovery of “scouting reports,” dating from 2012, which ranked players on the women’s team on their looks and sex appeal with”the lewdest of terms.”
Okay, I get it, men can be pigs. But aren’t they being punished now not so much for their attitude and comments, but for being stupid enough to write this stuff down?

Fox News’s Bret Baier apologized today for saying Wednesday five foreign intelligence agencies had hacked Hillary’s email server, and that she faces a “likely” indictment over the FBI’s investigation into the Clinton Foundation.
Beier admitted the email alllegations came from a “single, anonymous source.” And that saying “likely” was a “mistake.”
Well, I’m sure all conservative websites will issue retractions immediately….

Chris Christie’s former aides were found guilty on all counts in their Bridgegate trial. Time for the FBI to announce there must be a connection to Hillary Clinton?

My friend Marc Ragovin  “Breaking news, Jim Comey has just announced the FBI is investigating allegations that HRC once drove across the GWB bridge.”

Just a thought for Hillary haters, many who don’t really love Trump either. Some insist Clinton’s health isn’t good enough to make it through a term, or that revelations over emails etc will mean she will be indicted and have to step down.
If they are right….then a vote for Hillary is a vote for Tim Kaine, who has the reputation of a reasonable man, especially compared to the Donald.. So what’s the problem?
