It’s going to be a good College Football playoff semi-finals and finals.

Meanwhile in college basketball, Stanford upset #16 Louisville and Cal upset Notre Dame. The ACC may not be that happy about picking up what they thought were the dregs of the old Pac 12.

They’re toast?

So Notre Dame, after not making the CFP, apparently turned down a bid to play BYU in the wildly popular Pop-Tarts bowl in Orlando December 27. Bet the Fighting Irish fans are frosted.

But yeah, a team that won’t join a conference where they might play a championship game now won’t play in any postseason game that doesn’t give them a chance to win a championship game. This tracks.

Although, three loss Alabama, who lost to FLORIDA STATE, were just blown out by Georgia 28-7, and barely beat 5-7 Auburn by a touchdown..

Not that I have any love for Notre Dame but if we needed any more proof with Alabama in that the CFP is a wholly owned subsidiary of the SEC.

Meanwhile the consensus top ranked college football team in the country is country is .. Indiana?!!

And the Kansas City Chief are probably out of the NFL playoffs

Auburn’s upset of #15 Texas A&M is one of the best days for the school since they fired Tommy Tuberville.

Three top-15 SEC teams lost to unranked opponents Saturday. #15 Texas A & M to Auburn, #7 Alabama to Oklahoma and #9 Ole Miss to Florida. Sometimes I love college football.

Although before Texas A&M’s amazing 4th OT upset.

In the 2nd OT, first officials miss defensive pass interference on Texas A&M. Then they call what ESPN announcers “really bad’ offensive pass interference on Auburn to negate first and goal at the 2.. Can’t imagine how SEC officials got the reputation for heavily favoring better-seeded teams.

Two blue state teams now playing in next week’s National Championship. Maybe it’s a sign? .

So not only will an SEC team not be in the College Football Playoff, no incoming SEC team (which could have been Texas) will be in the College Football Playoff. So will the SEC just buy the Big Ten now?

Your reminder that Ron DeSantis put $1 million in the state budget for the state of Florida to sue the College Football Committee over leaving FSU out of the playoffs Sounds now like as good an investment as his Presidential campaign commercials.

How can Democrats support Maddow having Liz Cheney on? Same as we supported Ted Kennedy making deals w/ Orrin Hatch on ADA, & should support Amy Klobuchar who has journalism bill w/ John Kennedy & AI bill w/ Josh Hawley. Etc. USA can’t survive with us all in our own corners.

Not FSU fan, even though they’re one team who has permission – from actual Seminole tribe – to use the chop. But how can you claim to pick best TEAM? And say 1 player being injured, out of 22 men on field offense/defense, plus special teams, negates wins & losses? #CFBPlayoff

So if the CFB ran the NFL and Jalen Hurts, Patrick Mahomes, Brock Purdy or Dak Prescott got injured, they’d say the Eagles, Chiefs, 49ers or Cowboys should be out of the playoffs?

And look, I get it, but if it’s about marquee players and big name schools, why play the games at all?

Wonder if TCU, who BEAT Michigan, affected the committee’s decision today. The lowest rated and least-watched national championship of the BCS/CFP era was 2023, when Georgia beated TCU by 58 points.

Pac 12 going dark

If you didn’t really care who wins last Pac-12 championship but are tired of SEC & Alabama coach Nick Saban’s whining, I suggest you be glad Washington won.

The Huskies are undefeated, so they’re in the CFB Playoff.

If Oregon Ducks had won, SEC would have insisted THEIR one-loss teams were better.

I’m all about underdogs and feel good stories.

And normally I’d be rooting for a small conference team getting to a New Year’s Bowl.

So despite all the predictions of its strength, Hurricane Patricia basically proved to be over-hyped and comparatively weak. Maybe they should rename it Hurricane Jeb.

Florida State was upset tonight by Georgia Tech  When a game winning potential field goal was blocked and run back. . The Seminoles haven’t been this embarrassed in recent memory without the police being involved.
