Barry Zito vs Justin Verlander
And the game was a blowout…
just like we all expected
(Ok I was there. I admit I thought in advance Giants would lose too.
SF Giants fans remember a time that the team NEVER felt out of it.
2012 Especially, Down 2-0 to Cincinnati Reds in NLDS
And down 3-1 to the St Louis Cardinals in NLCS
We expected the same with the World Series and Tigers…
In any case, the 2026 Brewers have that feeling.
–
And I do like the Brewers… But IMHO whether or not Yandy Diaz went, checked swings should be reviewable. (Wilmer Flores in 2021 didn’t swing… yes, I’m still bitter.)

–
Wow, Minnesota Gophers just upset #15 Hawkeyes -13 to 10 on a 44 yard field goal as time expired.
Note to Missouri Senator Eric Schmitt – that’s the Hawkeyes of IOWA.
Minnesota wasn’t playing a team from Georgia.
–
Why isn’t media saying this?
Of COURSE Mike Johnson says he thinks Republicans will keep the House. He knows GOP will loss but..
Trump is pretending Democrats only win when they cheat.
So Johnson has to repeat the boss’s line in advance of Donald saying elections were rigged.
–
Trump today “The poverty rate has just reached its best level, most successful level in American history, poverty. Poverty is in great shape.”
Did not have Donald praising poverty on my bingo card…

Really NY Times?
This headline “How the Most Ruthless Ad of the Midterms Divided Republicans.”
Uh, ruthless is not the word for Vivek’s ad against Amy Acton. The word is “despicable.” Or “disgusting.”
–
A reminder. Not only did Amy Acton testify against her stepfather, this was not just a he said she said situation. He was indicted by a grand jury for raping her
And her mom fled with him rather than face trial.
