There are five teams within one game of each other for the last three guaranteed playoff sports and the top two spots in the play in tournament- with two games left in the regular season. And if you can figure out all the permutations, be glad you learned math before Trump guts education.

Democrats, with only 47 seats, can’t stop appointments. But they sure can keep some rich GOP Senators from enjoying their nights & weekends.

Hope some of these rich white men in the GOP Senate don’t mind giving up nights and weekends.

Trump is the sort of guy who when you play poker with him and he bluffs and loses with a pair of sixes, will upend the table and say the game is rigged.

The Chicago White Sox were about to tie the game on a bases loaded single in the 9th inning today against the Cleveland Guardians. And then runner Mike Tauchman injured himself running around third and couldn’t make it to the plate. This might be one of the most White Sox losses ever.

Meanwhile, Mike Yastremski, who hit a three run home run to help SF Giants win 5-4 on Sunday, said at the time, his 3 year old Quinley asked me for a home run,” Yastrzemski said over the weekend.

–

Today Yaz admitted “Well, she asked me specifically for a triple, a home run and a splash hit.”

And he won the game with a 2-run splash hit in the 10th.

Maybe the SF Giants need to buy that girl a pony. Or something.

Meanwhile in Colorado, 11 games in the 2-9 Rockies have a -33 run differential. Which means not only are they losing, they are losing by an average of 3 runs per game. Ouch.

Wonder if any journalists were included on a SIGNAL chat about fake tariffs in order to manipulate the market.

If so, would be nice if they’d come out with it now instead of waiting to write a book.

As the biggest payroll in baseball Los Angeles Dodgers appeared at the White House today while our stock market craters, would it be wrong as an SF Giants fan to hope #ETTD?

Dodgers are now 8-0 after a comeback win against the lowly (0-7) Atlanta Braves.

Meanwhile, speaking of the bottom teams.

The former Oakland As , and probably future Las Vegas As just finished their home opening series against the Cubs.

They lost three games 3-18, 4-7 and 2-10.

It’s a minor league ballpark. And they are doing their best to play like a minor league team.

On the other hand, the team refused to put “Sacramento” in their name. Which these days the city of Sacramento has to feel pretty good about. At least their AAA team (the rivercats) is respectable.

People do sometimes vote for higher taxes to get a fairer systems. And I get it, if you’re comfortably off it’s easier. But many Trump voters voted purely for their own self-interest. They’re about to find out “A tariff is a tax.” is not just a Democratic talking point.

Meanwhile, coming soon to the GOP House Circus – new representative Randy Fine. Who won a Florida deep red district by about half the margin Trump had.

And U Conn, a #2 seed, is the closest thing to a Cinderella left in the tournament.

All four mens teams and three of the other four women’s teams are #1 seeds.

Arkansas blew a 16 point lead midway through the 2nd half and a 6 point leaded with 1 minute and 15 seconds left and the ball, to lose to Texas Tech in OT 85-83

This is the most embarrassing thing to happen to Arkansas since they elected Sarah Huckabee Sanders governor.

No team lower than a 3 seed into the first half of the Elite Eight. No double digit seed left with 12 teams to go. Cinderella left early to beat the rush.

For all the focus on Elise Stefanik, Trump plucked Mike Waltz out of a GOP Congressional Seat in Florida. While it’s a red district special election polls are now closer than expected & Waltz appears to be idiot who put reporter into war planning Signal chat.

Maybe GOP should have gotten Elise confirmed & left Waltz in Florida.

Can’t be said enough. If Trump thought his and DOGE policies were popular he wouldn’t be worried about a special election in New York. Heck, he’d have a handpicked crony already endorsed for Stefanik’s seat.

Apparently Minnesota Senate GOP will move to expel Sen. Justin Eichorn after his arrest for allegedly seeking sex from a 16 year old girl. So yes, Virginia, there are still Republicans with SOME scruples.

Wonder if Donald will pardon him and offer Eichorn a job?

US Senate early this am passed imperfect compomise funding bill to keep govt open, after GOP-led House finally passed bill only with Democratic support. Wouldn’t it be easier just to vote for adults? (ie Democrats.)

And the Senate late night did pass a bill -unanimously – that was originally stripped by Musk from the funding bill, to make it easier for the Washington Commanders to return to Washington DC at the RFK stadium site.

The late vote was called a Hail Mary. Now, it’s good for the city of Washington DC, but Roger Goodell and the NFL also really wanted the bill passed. I’m sure the fact that it’s a multi-billion dollar league with many billionaire owners had nothing to do with it…
