US Senate early this am passed imperfect compomise funding bill to keep govt open, after GOP-led House finally passed bill only with Democratic support. Wouldn’t it be easier just to vote for adults? (ie Democrats.)

And the Senate late night did pass a bill -unanimously – that was originally stripped by Musk from the funding bill, to make it easier for the Washington Commanders to return to Washington DC at the RFK stadium site.

The late vote was called a Hail Mary. Now, it’s good for the city of Washington DC, but Roger Goodell and the NFL also really wanted the bill passed. I’m sure the fact that it’s a multi-billion dollar league with many billionaire owners had nothing to do with it…

Again, wonder how those who only get news from Fox are brainwashed? After House Democrats compromise, again, to keep govt open when GOP would’ve let shutdown happen… Faux News headline “Congress passes bill to stop partial government shutdown after missing midnight deadline.”

Every headline on stopgap government funding bill that passed today in House should include – it ONLY passed for 2 reasons: 1. Johnson refused Musk/Trump demands to eliminate debt ceiling. 2. Democrats voted to save Christmas & keep Government open. GOP didn’t back Musk/Trump.

The CR was basically a noncontroversial non-story -three months of negotiation with the usual complaints that it was coming down to the wire but all looked settled. Until President Musk decided to try to steal Christmas.

Again have to wonder, why do any NFL players with their contracts do anything other than take taxis or uber?

Bomb threats and swatting are wrong. Period. Fox News was all over it when it happened this week to some incoming Trump cabinet appointees. Yesterday, many Democratic Connecticut lawmakers, including Sen. Chris Murphy were targeted w/ bomb threats. Fox didn’t even mention it.

Gregg Popovich’s (hopefully) temporary absence from coaching the Spurs is apparently due to a mild stroke.

Las Vegas has the Spurs over-under to win 34.5 games. At this point thinking they’re going to do a lot better for Pop.

Expanded College Football Playoffs, were almost certainly designed to get more SEC teams into college football’s postseason. Or at least SEC and Big Ten plus top former Pac 12 schools.

Now you have undefeated BYU, Pittsburgh and Indiana.

Am a New Orleans Saints fan but also a San Antonio Spurs fan so don’t pay that much attention to the NBA Pelicans.

But long time Spurs star Dejounte Murray (who spent two years with the Atlanta Hawks) just had his season opening with the Pelicans. And fractured his hand. Murray will be out for a while.

Saints after a 2-0 start now have what feels like about half their starters injured.

Maybe New Orleans teams need to hire a voodoo queen?

Well, if you’re not watching the Dodgers -Mets NLCS because you don’t really like either team (or don’t like the idea of $300 million plus payrolls,) you haven’t exactly missed close exiting baseball games.
