Not up in the air

February 2, 2026

Hard to feel sorry for pro athletes making big money.

But San Antonio Spurs had yesterday’s 2p game in Charlotte moved up 11a in hopes of beating the bomb cyclone. Didn’t work. Team still sat on plane for 2 hrs before it was cancelled.

So they rescheduled for this morning, had the flight to San Antonio diverted to Atlanta for a mechanical issue. Finally made it back about 4p, (And had their game start time vs Orlando delayed twice, from 3p to 6p to 8pm.)

Even chartered planes are no match for Mother Nature

So is there ANYTHING Donald won’t destroy or tear down to feed his monstrous ego? We’ve elected a Trumpzilla. #KennedyCenter

So since Bad Bunny won the top award tonight, how long until Donald Trump tries to shut the Grammys down?

So MAGA, admittedly I didn’t hear all his speeches but I missed Trump’s promise “vote for me and I’ll shut down the Kennedy Center for two years…”

“Melania” received an 11% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes despite scoring 99% with the site’s “verified audience.”

They’re saying the people who actually saw the documentary liked it?

Both of them?

So how long do theaters who have agreed to show the Melania movie have to keep it on screen before they pull it?

Would love to see the number of Americans who streamed or watched Catherine O’Hara movies and shows this weekend compared to those seeing the Melania movie.

Getting all kinds of ads and offers to resubscribe to the Washington Post. At the same time the paper is reportedly gutting its staff. Hard pass.

Haven’t given up on the NY Times yet, but even in California, besides our local SF Chronicle, my newspaper money is much better spent on the Minnesota Star Tribune.

On SNL Cold Open last night on ICE Tom Homan asks “What have you learned? An ICE agent responds Maybe I’ve got this wrong but ..you hired a bunch of angry aggressive guys, gave us guns and didn’t train us so maybe this is what you wanted to happen?”

Florida Surgeon General on ending vaccine requirements for kids in school

“Who am I to tell you what to put in your body?”

So Joseph Ladapo is endorsing women’s right to take the abortion pill. Got it. #Smallmercies

Gentlemen, lift your umbrellas.

MLB’s Bristol Motor Speedway Classic sounded like great made-for-TV event.

Game to be played on the infield & 85,000 tickets sold. And ESPN reported the results of the rain-delayed game. A 4-2 Braves win over the Reds.

Not saying that the rain delay was.. overnight. So yes, a fun game. But also as reminder of why MLB doesn’t have team in Tennessee or North Carolina. (at least w/ outdoor stadium)

The Rockies put closer Seth Halvorsen on the 15th day IL with elbow strain.

Sad but a bit surprising. The 30-80 Rockies HAD a closer?

22 runs for SF Giants against NY Mets iin three games as they win the weekend series 2-1.

And out in the Mets bullpen are some New York relievers saying to new teammate Tyler Rogers…”Uh, didn’t the SF Giants trade you here because they couldn’t hit?

Donald Trump says he will name a new Labor Statistics official in “days” after he fired the last one. Translation, once Velveeta Voldemort has figured out who of his potential candidates will donate – and lie- the most.

NY Times’ Peter Baker “Trump’s war on facts has reached a new level and the message is clear: Government officials who deal in data now fear they have to toe the line and adopt his version of reality no matter how false or risk losing their job.”

If only Baker worked for a newspaper who had the power to expose Velveeta Voldemort’s insanity instead of sanewashing him.

And yes, actual NY Times headline this weekend

“Trump’s Efforts to Control Information Echo an Authoritarian Playbook.” Says the newspaper that regularly bends the knee to sanewash Donald for access.

And one more

Really NY Times? This headline “Lashing Out Over Russia and Jobs Data, Trump Displays His Volatile Side.” “Volatile SIDE?” When it comes to volatility, Trump is a mobius strip.

“They’ve wanted a ballroom at the White House for more than 150 years.” Can anyone seriously give me an example of who “they” are? Other than the voices in Velveeta Voldemort’s head?

How long until ALL reports dealing with the economy will be delivered by Karoline Leavitt and written in Sharpie?

Senator Alex Padilla is correct: “If Republicans were confident on their policy agenda, they’d be eager to defend it with the people and to defend at the ballot box next November.

You don’t need to gerrymander when voters actually like what you are doing.

Pretty clear Donald wants to turn the White House into a tacky American version of Versailles. Does anyone think Velveeta Voldemort knows what happened to the last King to live at Versailles?

Fox News is all about fear

And they’re headlne is still headlining a drunken brawl in Cincinnati where nobody died.

Meanwhile, crickets on 4 murdered in Montana. Police looking for 45-year-old Michael Paul Brown, a US army veteran. Yes, the suspect is white.
