Seeing red.

July 2, 2026

Got to love MAGA trolls on Social Media screaming about Folarin Balogun’s red card.

While also demanding end to birthright citizenship.

Balogun, born to British-Nigerian parents, only eligible to play for USMNT because his 7 1/2 months pregnant mom wasn’t allowed to fly home to UK .

Have long since made my peace w/ rooting for athletes who don’t share my political views:

But despite being SF Giants fan since 1986, Landen Roupp making such a public point about his homophobia on Pride Night made it easy not to mind him giving up 3 runs in first inning yesterday to the AZ Dbacks.

Then Ryan Walker, another who chose to write a bible verse, instead of just wearing a regular non-Pride cap, came in tonight when the Giants were up 6-0, gave up 4 runs without an out, although SF hung on to win 6-4.

Almost as if God is telling them “stick to sports?”

(or get a day job)

Illinois Governor JB Pritzer says out loud what many think, that Donald Trump has dementia.

Assume Donald will want to sue. Wonder if any of his advisors will tell him “discovery is a b*tch?”

Happy Canada Day, eh? (now belated)

(Has our US President said a word? Suppose given his usual comments about our neighbor to the north, we should be grateful he hasn’t.)

I’d say the idea of Jeannine Pirro on SCOTUS has to be a bad joke But many if not most of Trump’s appointees to important positions are bad jokes.

Trump steals $1.3M from National Parks budget for Italian granite near Oval Office

When you can’t find a park ranger or a working bathroom at a National Park this summer, console yourself with the fact that POTUS is walking on fancy Italian granite…

So if Mitch McConnell did pass away would Trump demand the news be kept private until after the 4th of July so as not to distract from his Freedom 250 party?

As Washington Post reports Trump has skirted the rules to use a $500M no-bid contract to build his White House ballroom…

where are all the “Deficit Hawk” Republicans on this one?

GOP lost their minds when Lloyd Austin did not divulge he was hospitalized for two weeks after prostate cancer surgery in 2024. Meanwhile Rep. Tom Kean was MIA for four months And has anyone in GOP released ANY update on Mitch McConnell who was hospitalized over two weeks ago?

Troy Nehls, bragging of buying lobster & steak while 60% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck

“Maybe they don’t work as hard as I do”.

Nehls is retiring. He’ll have served SIX years in Congress; will receive full pension for life.

What a jacka**.

Trump asked about $1 billion he made last year “The stock market’s up… everybody’s profiting”

Sure this is very comforting to 40% or so of Americans who own no stock even in retirement plans.

And to working class Americans who mostly don’t have stock & who voted for Trump

Good news.

The Supreme Court upheld birthright citizenship

Bad news:

There were three SCOTUS judges who would have taken it away.

Depression is a real illness & good for GOP Rep. Tom Kean for getting help.

But he got in hospital medical treatment and was able to keep his taxpayer funded job while missing work for FOUR months.

How many Americans could do that, especially as Kean & GOP have taken away healthcare subsidies?

Not too much winning

April 5, 2026

Early days. But 10 games into the SF Giants 2026 season it’s a good spring also to be a San Antonio Spurs fan. Diversity helps in many ways. #Porvida

SF Giants have scored 7 runs in their 7 losses…. 19 run in their 3 wins

I understand baseball is a streaky game but this is ridiculous.

Meanwhile, I already really miss Tyler Rogers. IYKYK

So with about 3-4s game left in in 82 game NBA season, we now know which 10 teams out of 30 will not be playing in the postseason.

And some wonder why some players may not take regular season seriously?

Has Mike Johnson said he didn’t see Trump’s F-bomb tweet yet?

ABC today reported “UCLA’s seniors have scored the last 170 points for the Bruins in March Madness.” Anyone watching men’s college basketball has to be thinking “seniors?”

·

A few days again Donald said “U.S. “will not have anything to do with” what happens next in the strait…
That’s not for us. That’ll be for France. That’ll be for whoever’s using the strait.”

Today it’s “open the f*ckin strait.”

Does Trump even REMEMBER what he said last week?

Bought a Smithfield fully-cooked ham on sale. It’s shrinkwrapped in plastic, then wrapped in foil with plastic net bag around it.

Heating instructions say to “remove all packaging materials” before putting in the oven.”

If I didn’t already fear for our collective USA intelligence.

Now, maybe JD Vance has no idea how unpopular he is.

Although considering his love for vacations maybe he realizes he won’t help Orban but hey, he and Usha will get a lavish taxpayer funded trip to Budapest.

I’m so old I remember when it was Easter weekend and if there was Presidential “news” at all it involved what the First Lady might be wearing to church.

fundraising email just on Saturday.

Sent from Air Force One

Sat, Apr 4 at 12:39 PM

“RESPOND TO TRUMP. Right after I boarded Air Force One, I knew I had to get in contact with you.”

Uh, he’s not on Air Force One

Not that I didn’t expect him to be crazy.

Didn’t expect all other Republicans falling at his feet.

Remember retired Senator Roy Blunt interviewed in later January 2025. He knew his former colleagues & said “for various reasons, some of Trump’s nominations would not be confirmed…”

Serious question. Why does anyone care these days what John Fetterman thinks?

So this one was too much for even Fox News to ignore.

Website headline:

“Trump issues profanity-laced threat against Iranian regime: ‘Open the f—– Strait'”

“Mommy, why can’t I say bad words if the President says them?”

Now down to just over 210 days before the midterms. 30 weeks.

Does Trump have a team focused on how to distract from his record, and the Epstein Files, until then?

Great news that both American pilots who were shot down were rescued. But you can be happy about the rescue and still be mad about Trump unnecessarily having put them into harm’s way in the first place.
