When you go from trying to jinx a no-hitter into the 7th to cheering a walk-off win in the 9th… you must be a 2024 SF Giants fan.

Just told a friend I have known since our sons played little league together that our Little League coach would have benched Camilo Doval and told him to get his head in the game.

Looks like SF Giants agreed with me.

(SF Giants sent their closer, an All-Star in 2023, who has DEFINITELY not had his head in the game, to AAA to work on stuff.)

Look, I try to avoid gender stereotypes but when you hear that two heavily favored USA relay teams competed for Olympic gold today in Paris, one won and the other got DQ’ed because they couldn’t work together simply to pass a baton… Why do I think that most people would correctly guess the DQ’ed team was the men?

Will someone explain to me how the sex-obsessed GOP can decide high school boys can’t handle being in a bathroom with tampons, but they can handle those same bathrooms having urinals where they all can check out & compare each other’s junk?

Some are freaked out about idea of boys seeing tampons in their high school bathroom. Though surely boys aren’t as clueless as my high school days? Classmate told me about her date from hell with guy, no joke, who thought Carrie had cut herself in that movie shower scene.

WTAF? Now Donald is threatening to sue the NY Times because he says he has flight logs for his fantasy helicopter trip with Willie Brown. I am sure Trump will release those flight logs when he releases his big beautiful health care plan.

Somebody told Walls that in 2020 even though Florida went red, the Tampa Bay Area voted for Biden by 7 points?

Love Logan Webb. But any SF Giants fan knows if he’s going to have a bad inning it would be his first inning. Which (and it’s not hindsight if you say it up front) makes him a bad pitcher to put in an All-Star game.

NY Times has a headline story today “In the aging Senate, nobody wants to be the one to nudge President Biden aside.” Story uses phrase ” the president’s feeble candidacy.”

Why not “In GOP Senate, no one wants to nudge 2020 loser & aging convicted felon Donald Trump aside?”

Why isn’t media questioning Trump’s not doing public appearances since the debate as a possible sign of his exhaustion and being too old to run for President? Asking for a country.

–

And not just asking for OUR country

Media claims “stunning upset ” in French election. “Stunning upset” is easier than saying ‘We were wrong.”

Stephen Colbert with a truth the supposed actual media isn’t talking about. “In the debate, Trump proved demonstrably that he is a monster.”

And the in the so-called family values and so-called pro-life GOP, Republicans are strangely silent about both the release of Epstein files accusing Trump of raping a child, and Donald’s good friend Vladimir Putin bombing a children’s hospital in Kiev.

He gave up five earned runs to the SF Giants in three innings on June 29, and five earned runs to the Milwaukee Brewers today, July 6. Did the Giants break him?

Meanwhile, the NY Yankees are 2-8 in their last 10 games and media tossing around words like “shocking sorry,” “brutal” “spiraling.”

The Yankees are still 54 and 36. Get out the teeny tiny pinstriped violins.

George Stephanopolous is the interviewer, but Dark Brandon Joe Biden has the question of the night: “Have you ever seen Donald Trump do anything for the benefit of someone else not him?


Since every accusation is a confession has anyone checked to see if Donald Trump had a medical emergency this afternoon?

So one of the attacks on President Biden is allegation that Joe, 81, has gone downhill in the last few months and is no longer fit to serve. On top of everything else, Donald Trump, with an unhealthy lifestyle. turns 81 in 2027… Does that mean GOP needs to replace him now?

This is a good day to remind people that Donald Trump fell asleep most days in the courtroom where he was on trial and it not only didn’t make headlines, but also none of the national media bring it up now while age is a topic of concern for candidates

Much of the USA is sweltering with hot weather records falling on a daily basis. Hurricane Beryl, one of earliest on record, is approaching Texas.

Meanwhile Project 2025 plans in their own words on US energy policy: “End the focus on climate change and green subsidies.”

Today Trump denied knowing about Project 2025. And “I wish them luck?” WTF? So the question in his case? Dementia or deception?

Going to repeat: If President Biden does take & pass a cognitive test, media reaction will not be “thanks for clearing that up,” but instead “well, will Joe take another test next week?” Lather, rinse, repeat. It will never be enough. MSM dreads another no-drama 4 years.

Meanwhile in Brazil: Ex-President Jair Bolsonaro, who Trump calls “great friend,” was indicted for money laundering & criminal association in connection w/ undeclared diamonds from Saudi Arabia, his 2nd indictment, so far.

Since media now obsessing about President Biden and teleprompters, this would be a good time for that same media to remind Americans that when Trump doesn’t have a teleprompter he starts talking about sharks and windmills and showers..

Hurricane Beryl is now expected to hit Texas and other states. So will Donald Trump say if he were President he’d just Sharpie it away?

Monday mourning

Monday – Another day without a starting pitcher named for the SF Giants, now missing most of their starting rotation on the IL.

Today they had the excuse of an off day

Happy Canada Day to our neighbors to the north. Have to figure Canadians were thrilled that government offices were closed today so they weren’t overloaded with questions from Americans about immigration.

CNN’s Jake Tapper just said Joe Biden should have 2 hour press conference to prove his fitness to be President with freewheeling & no doubt some hostile questions.

Uh, Tapper just presided over 90 minute debate where he didn’t challenge/question Trump on even the most egregious lies.

Not that it will change anything now but would really love an apology from EVERYONE who in 2016 said there was no difference between voting for Hillary Clinton and voting for Donald Trump. Yes, I am talking to you hardcore Bernie supporters.

CNN is actually bragging about their debate “An unprecedented debate as only CNN could do it.” This is like Norfolk Southern bragging about their Ohio train wreck.

SF Giants never get love from ESPN.

So figured Giants improbable win over LA Dodgers with a 30 year old rookie Spencer Bivens who started pro-career in Paris making $500 a week & started 2023 in high-A ball wouldn’t be top story.

But cool that one of top Sportscenter stories WAS an WNBA game.

Bivens is such a cool story. His first pro contract in France in 2018 was for $500 a month.. With the MLB daily per diem for player for meals at $117.50, he’ll get more meal money from the SF Giants for a week on the road than he made in a month in France.

Dodgers star Tyler Glasgow came into yesterday’s game as a likely All-Star game starter.

SF Giants tagged him for 5 runs in 3 innings

Dodger star James Paxton came into today’s SF Giants game 7.1 with a 3.39 ERA. Giants have tagged him for 9 runs through 4 innings.

SCOTUS Justice Samuel Alito was missing from the bench recently. Presumably he was ill. Since he ruled that judges know more than experts I trust he consulted a conservative judge friend rather than going to a doctor.

Many smart people who went to 3 years of law school & became judges last took a science class in high school. Now SCOTUS is saying judges know more on regulatory issues with food, water, air etc, than scientists with PhD’s? Vote blue at least to get judges who trust experts.

Biden ran against 26 Dems in 2020 primary. Pete Buttigieg & Amy Klobuchar endorsed Joe same day. At Dallas rally when Amy mentioned the debates,

Biden leaned into microphone & said, “all of which you won.”

Winning the Presidency is not about being the best debater, then or now.

For the NY Times it went downhill faster when President Biden wouldn’t grant them an interview. New NY Times motto: “All the News That’s Fit to be Petulant.”

Why isn’t today’s Maureen Dowd line on Biden getting more press?

“Got to know Biden in 1987 when he was running for president…I knocked him out of that race when I wrote about how he cloaked himself in the life of Neil Kinnock.”

She’s gleefull, and self aggrandizing about the idea of destroying Joe.

As many in national media behave like a bunch of sharks smelling blood in the water. remember -for them it’s about ratings and clicks. Their goals are not democracy’s goals.

RIP Orlando Cepeda, 86, less than two weeks after Willie Mays, 93, passed away. Thinking baseball heaven has added enough SF Francisco Giants to their All-Star roster for a while.

Yes, President Biden had a raspy voice and seemed like he had a bad cold. Not his best performance. But Washington Post headline. “Biden struggles. Trump deflects questions.” Should have at the least been “Biden struggles, Trump lies.”

Rough night for SF Giants who lost 6-5 to the St. Louis Cardinals at Rickwood Field in Birmingham, when starting pitcher Keaton Winn gave up 5 runs in 2 innings

But a great tribute night. (Retired pitcher CC Sabathia, 43, on hand for the game, might have been a better starter.)

On a brighter note, Willie Mays has to be smiling that Heliot Ramos, 24, a home-grown rookie, now playing center field for the SF Giants, hitt a three-run home run for the SF Giants. #ByeByeBaby

Has MLB considered having the Oakland As play some games next year at Rickwood Field in Burmingham? The stadium holds 10,800. Far more than the As draw most home games.

In 2000, SCOTUS decided Bush v. Gore in 4 days. Now it’s been about 115 days just on Trump’s claim of absolute immunity. Three of these judges were appointed by Donald. They don’t need a ruling to be their quid pro quo. A delay is working just fine.

Not just that the story has leaked how other (conservative) judges advised Judge Aileen Cannon not to take the Trump classified document case. But that these conservative judges are so upset by how bad and biased Cannon is, that they talked to people who would leak the story.

Trump VP running mate wanna-be J.D. Vance – “I’m extremely skeptical that Mike Pence’s life was ever in danger.” Translation “I want to be President badly and I’ve convinced myself Donald would never turn on me like he’s turned on everyone else eventually.”

As much as we complain now about SCOTUS and Aileen Cannon, there isn’t much we can do about current judges with lifetime appointments. What we CAN do! Vote Blue in November so President Joe Biden will keep appointing new judges, & a Democratic Senate will keep confirming them

Perseverance…

If you didn’t read the story of pitcher Spencer Bivens, 29 years old and now 1-0 with the SF Giants, it’s worth a few minutes. Even if he never wins another game. Story is from 2022… which means he’s kept the dream alive 2 more years.

Almost as if the NY Times is sympathizing with the anti-choice movement taking away women’s rights and putting women’s lives at risk.

One problem with the media being so in the tank for Trump these days. It feeds into Donald’s narrative that he is going to win and if he doesn’t that the election is rigged. Not like Velveeta Voldemort needs any more ammunition to try again to overturn an election.

He was one of my first favorite NBA players when I was a little kid and used to spend a couple weeks at Christmas with grandparents in Ridgecrest, CA. Lakers games were regularly on TV. But how could have he have possibly been 86 years old. ?

Republican party leadership now demands absolute loyalty for anyone who wants committee assignments etc. Hogan would be a reliable GOP vote for whatever Mitch’s successor tells him to do. If you want a voice for Maryland, vote Angela Alsobrooks.

Senator Chris Coons “The highest court in the land should not have the lowest ethical standards.” How is this controversial?
