Well, the SF Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers both gave up 11 runs to their opponents on Tuesday night.

The Giants lost 11-3, the Dodgers blew a 10-7 lead late and lost 11-10 in ten innings.

They count the same in the standings.

Anyone else who remembers the original six NHL teams, or even when the league had about 20 teams, still have it feel a bit odd when you see a playoff game between Florida and Tampa??

Meanwhile in baseball trivia, 74 pitches combined by 2 starting pitchers for SF Giants and Phillies in Philadelphia in the first inning… Greg Maddux had a complete game once with 78 pitches.

Your tax dollars at work: US AG Pam Bondi has press conference to talk about suing Maine allegedly to “protect women and girls in sports.” (despite there being only 2 or trans 3 girls competing in the whole state.)

While the trans issue is complicated, what about injuries sustained when larger children compete against smaller ones. Or when parents hold their kids back in school to allow them to compete at an older age against classmates of the same year?

(talk to any parent who’s had a child in middle or high school competing against a young man in the same grade couple years older who’s gone through puberty.)

Uh, with 82 games, and eight playoff positions in each conference, shouldn’t the regular season be enough to decide who gets into the postseaon?
