Wipeout

The Golden State Warriors lost by 51 to the Memphis Grizzlies tonight.

And they still didn’t have as embarassing a day as Donald Trump and President Musk.

As much as New Orleans Saints fans sometimes miss Sean Payton, the Broncos loss to the Chargers after Denver had a 24-13 lead midway through the third quarter reminds us why Saints might have let him go.

Lawrence O’Donnell tonight “We are watching live coverage of the total collapse of the Elon Musk Donald Trump partnership in government in the House.”.” Schadenfreude is bad, right? Oh who am I kidding?

This Musk-Trump fiasco, before they are even inaugurated, is as if an NFL team was leading by 3, with a few seconds to go & the QB, instead of taking a knee, decided to go for long pass to pad his stats…which got intercepted & run back by the opponent for a game winning TD

-President Musk and VP Trump’s new budget bill went up in flames faster than some Tesla cybertrucks after a crash.

Here’s a thought. DC hotel prices, normally $2000 & up for inaugurals with 4 night minimums are in freefall for Jan 19-20. Now Washington Hilton, for example, is $700 a night. Does Donald want to shut down government to distract from the fact that people aren’t showing up?

Elon Musk bought Twitter for $44 billion. Twitter/X is now worth under $10 billion This is the stable genius that many Republicans are fine with as the real President of our Country?

Hey Trump voters, when you have to cancel a family Christmas vacation to a national park, or miss a plane due to TSA shortages, or don’t get paid until the end of January… Hope it was worth making that statement of not voting for a black woman.

And the Musk-Trump bill that failed didn’t just cut millions for pediatric cancer research. They cut the “Take it Down Act” -which criminalizes taking regular pictures & using AI to put a person’s head on a naked body, possibly engaging in sex.

A bill so needed for children that it passed unanimously in the US Senate after Amy Klobuchar & Ted Cruz actually joined forces to lead it.

Give me a bleeping break! Senator Mike Lee trying to hold up noncontroversial nominees because President-Elect “has asked we hold off on confirming any Presidential nominees until he takes office.” Same Lee who supported Amy Coney Barrett for SCOTUS while US was voting for Biden in 2020!

For my nerd English literature fan readers:

Trump thinks he’s a King. The King he’s closest to being is King Lear. “He that loves to be flattered is worthy of the flatterer.”

Great column. You are nailing Trump/Musk. And people did not see this coming? We only have to look in the mirror for accountability. Thanks.
