Say hey

July 9, 2024

Great moment from celebration of life for Willie Mays, where former President Bill Clinton attended and told stories as a fan boy, was Barack Obama. appearing in a video, and talking about inviting Willie to ride with him on Air Force One on the way to the All-Star Game in St. Louis. “Everybody was just passing me by. ‘Can I get you something Mr. Mays?’

Heliot Ramos first was called up to play centerfield for SF Giants on May 8, two days after Willie Mays’ 93rd birthday. He went 1-4 with an RBI.

At the game at Rickwood Field he made a catch that would have made Willie proud.

Now the 24 year old centerfielder in 2024 has been named an MLB All-Star,

Former LA Dodger Raúl Mondesi ,accused of embezzling $5 million, was sentenced by Dominican court to 6 years 9 months in jail & fined $507,000 for corruption as mayor in city of San Cristobal.

Silly Mondesi. Had he just stayed in US he could have run for office as a Republican.

If you didn’t already love Lawrence O’Donnell –

Tonight in response to a dishonest NY Times story about a neurologist visiting the White House

“The NY Times is wrong.”

Why is that so hard for most pundits to say?

For example -Here the NY Times goes again: “Following Trump’s Lead, G.O.P. Adopts Platform Softening Stance on Abortion.”

Uh, the so-called “softened” stance GOP just adopted condemns, as Amy Klobuchar reminded us, “ONE THIRD of women of reproductive age (in US) to live under extreme & dangerous bans.”

NY Times has a headline story today “In the aging Senate, nobody wants to be the one to nudge President Biden aside.” Story uses phrase ” the president’s feeble candidacy.”

Why not “In GOP Senate, no one wants to nudge 2020 loser & aging convicted felon Donald Trump aside?”

Why isn’t media questioning Trump’s not doing public appearances since the debate as a possible sign of his exhaustion and being too old to run for President? Asking for a country.

And not just asking for OUR country

Media claims “stunning upset ” in French election. “Stunning upset” is easier than saying ‘We were wrong.”

Stephen Colbert with a truth the supposed actual media isn’t talking about. “In the debate, Trump proved demonstrably that he is a monster.”

And the in the so-called family values and so-called pro-life GOP, Republicans are strangely silent about both the release of Epstein files accusing Trump of raping a child, and Donald’s good friend Vladimir Putin bombing a children’s hospital in Kiev.

Is there ANYONE who cares what Van Jones thinks?

You know it’s time to get a life after the election when…

November 15, 2008

Okay, it’s 11 days after the election and over two months until Obama’s inauguration.  Which means it’s a good time to look for signs that you might need a life again…

For example:

You still get up first thing in the morning and automatically go to Pollster.com

You plan to watch the 2-7 St. Louis Rams against the 2-7 San Francisco 49ers, and you don’t even live in St. Louis or San Francisco.

For that matter, you plan to watch the Rams – 49ers game and you DO live in St. Louis or San Francisco.

You really really care if Obama or McCain end up winning Missouri.

Back to sports.

Is it time yet to rename it “Frequently Suspended University.”

Nine games into the season, the FSU Seminoles have played only TWO games without at least one player suspended.  19 different players have been suspended at least one game. each.  And they haven’t even had final exams to get caught cheating on yet.

The Philadelphia Phillies have announced after their first World Series win since 1980 that they will be raising ticket prices.   Guess  after a championship this is the only way to be sure in 2009 that they  give their fans something to boo about.

And back to politics:

Governor Sarah Palin was asked what she thought of Hillary Clinton possibly being named Secretary of State.  And she responded, “which state?”

Or,

Sarah Palin was asked what she thought about Obama choosing Hillary as his Secretary of State.  And she responded. “No more trick questions,  America’s not a state, it’s a country.”
