Are the games the thing?

December 6, 2023

Does anyone actually understand, or care, about this NBA in-season tournament?

Can’t be the only SF Giants fan on social media who KNOWS there are more important things in the world right now but can’t resist clicking on links that might be news about a contract for a certain Japanese baseball player.

As VP Harris cast tie breaking vote for Loren L. AliKhan to be confirmed as first female South Asian federal judge to serve on DC District Court, it was 50-50 only because of Joe Manchin. Suppose it’s just coincidence that Manchin’s nay vote, again, came for a woman of color.

When Joe Biden first announced in 2019 he decided to enter race for President, Biden said he decided to run because of Donald Trump’s actions in the White House. So why is it a big deal that Joe says Trump running again may have factored in his decision to run for re-election?

A new study in Japan says wasabi linked to “substantial” memory boost. Maybe because when you take a mouthful of wasabi with sushi thinking it’s avocado you never forget it?

Last night we had Rachel Maddow and Liz Cheney agreeing on the need to stop Trump to save democracy.

Today on a smaller scale we have Senator Ed Markey (D. Mass) & Ted Cruz together as lead sponsors of a bill to require carmakers to keep AM radio in cars. Not sure which is the oddest couple.

So bill passed by Senate Rules Committee w/ bipartisan support apparently scared ex-coach Tuberville enough to drop his holds on military appointments. What small petty little man he is & ultimately a coward. No wonder Auburn paid him $5.6 million to go away & not coach anymore.

On top of cruel stunt that hurt our military & families. Tuberville should know better than to use not-so-cute metaphor w/ daughter of a sportswriter & a fan herself. Tommy; “I’d have loved to have 5 downs in football.” Amy Klobuchar; “It was more like a 10 month long fumble.”

And right on cue, despite a bipartisan bill by Ted Cruz and Ed Markey to support AM radio, with about 26 bipartisan co-sponsors, Rand Paul objects because he is…angry about electric cars??? We are all Rand Paul’s neighbor.
