Look what you made me do?

November 20, 2023

Yes, Travis Kelce fumbled in a big spot, but waiting to see how those two dropped passes by other players at end of 4th quarter that probably finally cost Kansas City game against Philadelphia Eagles were Taylor Swift’s fault.

Broncos’ Kareem Jackson was suspended for a second time this season, this time hit for a hit on Joshua DDobbs hit. He also has four fines for unnecessary roughness and two ejections. Who does Kareem think he is, Draymond Green?

CNN’s John King claims “Young people claim they don’t see President Biden enough.” Also CNN, let’s do wall-to-wall coverage of Velveeta Voldemort and instead of showing Joe Biden traveling the country as he has in the last month, let’s do yet another story on his poll numbers.-

Rosalynn Carter back in 1976s interview asked about being controversial. “There are so many things that I see that need to be done… I don’t think Jimmy and I have ever shied away from controversy. The only way not to be criticized is to be mediocre and never do anything.”

And then this lovely quote “Asked if winning a Nobel Peace Prize or becoming President was the most exciting thing that happened to him Jimmy Carter responds, “when Rosalynn said she’d marry me — I think that was the most exciting thing.”

ERCOT, the Texas grid operator’, plan to add generating capacity has failed and so the state faces a risk of winter blackouts.. Wonder if Ted Cruz has his travel plans set for Cancun yet?

House Speaker Mike Johnson, who recently made clear his endorsement of Donald Trump for 2024, met with the former president on tonight. Did MAGA Mike bring pads for all the time he spent on his knees?.

Media loves to report how younger voters are uncomfortable with Biden’s age & think Joe is too pro-Israel with Israel-Hamas war. But why doesn’t MSM give equal weight to Trump being 77 & Donald’s stated plans to deport those who protest on behalf of Hamas PLUS having Muslim ban?

On December 14, 2023, Donald Trump will officially be 77 1/2 years old, more than half way through the year to 78 years old. I do hope the media will spend as much time on this milestone as they are on President Biden’s birthday.

Why isn’t this quote from Rick Santorum getting more attention? “ “Thank goodness that most of the states in this country don’t allow you to put everything on the ballot because pure democracies are not the way to run a country.” Saying the GOP mission statement out loud.

In 2018, Manchin told Meet the Press he’d considered leaving Congress but ran for re-election because he thought he could “contribute to bringing people together.” And media started treating Joe like most important man in Congress. Are we shocked it went to his head?

As Foghorn Leghorn trends on social media for a misogynistic racist remark about VP Harris,, your reminder that Louisiana Senator John Kennedy was not only a Democrat until 2007, he was a Phi Beta Kappa at Vanderbilt, an editor of the Law Review at University of Virginia, and went to Oxford.

He’s not stupid, but he thinks voters are.

Missed it by that much

My sister, a Minnesota Vikings fan, told me last week after the Vikings hung on to beat the Saints, that a popular t-shirt is “The Vikings almost always almost win.”

In snatching defeat from the jaws of victory against the Broncos, today the VIkings lived up, or rather, down to that slogan.

As a (still first place) Saints fan was nice at least knowing the team couldn’t blow the 4th quarter to the “bye week.” #WhoDat

Meanwhile, big headline about “Ohio State jumping Michigan to be #2 in college football in AP Poll, while the Wolverines fell to #3.

Michigan and Ohio State play next week. If only all controversies were so easy to solve.

“Does technology make us stupid?” (driving edition.)

Drove from Sacramento to Palo Alto today. Because I don’t love often chaotic highway interchanges in California & it was a pretty day to cross the Bay Bridge, I ignored the Google Maps lady to take Highway 80 & 101 the whole day.

Left the sound on for fun, got the voice telling me repeatedly not only just to do the more complicated East Bay routing, but also then to try 280 PLUS go off the highway onto surface streets maybe a dozen times.

I stayed on my planned route. It was simple & great views of SF: 2 hours and 15 minutes

The “faster” routes, at best estimate were 2 hours and 2 minutes….

(Seriously though, how often do the ‘fastest routes’ require so many road changes, each of which is a possibility for a delay or problem. Ditto some of the transit suggestions, which might have two connections where a single connect is almost as fast.)

RIP Rosalynn Carter, 96.. Not unexpected but still sad.

Hard to explain to this generation how groundbreaking (and controversial) it was for Rosalynn Carter as First Lady to be such a close and influential partner for Jimmy.

On junk fees, “Airlines claim ‘it would be too difficult to disclose charges more clearly” Doug Mullen, deputy general counsel at Airlines for America. Uh, airlines can & do change their prices, including for extra legroom etc, every 5 minutes. They don’t WANT to disclose fees.

Inflation at lowest point since 2021, gas prices are falling, unemployment rate has stayed below 4% for longest stretch since 1960s… Wonder how many Americans know these & other Biden positives. Media would rather run stories on Joe’s poll numbers. Competence isn’t clickbait.

Golden showers is trending and not only does everyone on both sides of the aisle instantly know who we’re talking about, he’s the GOP front-runner for the 2024 Presidential nomination. As my late great stepmother used to say “We’re not perfect but they’re nuts.”
